What is it?
PRP treatment for hair loss is a highly effective process that utilizes your body’s natural healing processes and regenerative abilities to help slow the thinning of the hair as well as stimulate new hair growth. The PRP is rich in growth factors, multiple other wound healing and new hair follicle stimulating cells.
How is the procedure performed?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is derived from the patient’s own blood serum. One of our specializd nurses will draw the patient’s blood which is then placed in a centrifuge where each part of the blood is separated. The platelet rich plasma is isolated and used to inject into the patient’s scalp. The treatment is relatively comfortable. A single session should take anywhere from 40-60 minutes.
How many treatments do I need?
PRP treatment for hair loss are generally preformed 2-4 times a year after the initial treatment course. The nurse may advise a different treatment plan based on your individual needs. Several studies have shown increased hair density at 4 months lasting for approximately 11 months.
